Went hiking with the wife this evening out on Pointe Mouillee. Saw a couple bald eagles, but they were about 1/4 mile away up in a tree. Tons of other birds, ducks, swans, and geese. In all it was about 4 miles to go the whole perimeter of the smaller area (cell 1 & 2). In all, it consists of 4,040 acres (16.3 km2) of coastal wetlands in Lake Erie near the mouth of the Huron River.

Rarely do I use the presets in Lightroom when processing photos for my +G+ 365 Project and +Creative 366 Project. But I usually always cycle through a few just to see if anything catches my eye. Something did last month, on the "skeleton tree" I captured in the fog, and again today with these farm animals that were finally close enough to fence for me to get a good photo of them. Weeping cherry tree in our front yard is about 85% in bloom right now. Figured it would make a great subject to learn more about white balance. Forty five shots later, and this one ended up being the most accurate (to my eyes). Have a great evening everyone!

Spent a little time exploring an abandoned house today - only the outside. The people who lived there were evicted about 2 years or so. The local fire department has since taken over the place, boarded up most of the windows, and now use it for training purposes. I did find some windows still intact - the ones on the garage.

I've tried lately to incorporate some of the daily themes into my +G+ 365 Project and +Creative 366 Project. I set out today with a few themes in mind, but as most of you know, when you venture out with camera in hand, things don't always go as planned.

This guy's name is Dave. He wasn't very talkative at all, what I learned about him was mostly through observation. He likes to fish, smoke Pall Mall cigarettes, and probably weighs about 90 pounds soaking wet. I sat next to him for quite a while. Never really asked permission to take his photo - I would instead just wait until he had a fish on his line and then I would shoot away. I got at least one dirty look from him, but when I left he just kinda smiled and threw his line back in the water.
